This is client agnostic setup information for setting up an email while hosted with us.
Most email clients will automatically detect the correct information for the server details. If they do not, you may manually setup the mail server info by using the following information.
Email server terminology quick lesson.
IMAP / POP3 is the server type used for receiving your mail.
With IMAP, the message does not remain on the local device, such as a computer, it remains on the server. You device will maintain a cache of usually 30-60 days worth of messages on the local device.
Using IMAP means that multiple devices (phone/pc) will always see the exact same messages. If you delete a message from one device, the other device will also no longer see that message either.
With POP3 mail, mail clients will connect and attempt to download the entirety of the mail to the local device (computer or mobile), it is then usually removed from the server. (There is also an option to leave the mail on the server as well in most clients.) Each device in a POP3 configuration will have its own copy of mail messages that can be sorted and deleted independently from each device.
SMTP is the sending / outgoing mail server.
