Accessing your website statistics as a user. #

The Virtualmin control panel comes with two types of web statistics, Awstats and Webalizer.

You must have setup a user account with the correct permissions in your control panel in order to see the statistics, please read below.

Awstats Statistics #

  • To see your Awstats statistics, please visit:
    • https://www.domain.tld/cgi-bin/awstats.pl
    • Replacing www.domain.tld with your own domain name.
    • The username full user account name, in most cases it is the same as the full user email address. ex. user@domain.tld
    • And the password is the same password used for accessing the accounts email, or Virtualmin control panel. ex. youremailpassword.

Webalizer Statistics #

  • To see your Webalizer statistics, please visit:
    • https://www.domain.tld/stats
    • Replacing www.domain.tld with your own domain name.
    • The username full user account name, in most cases it is the same as the full user email address. ex. user@domain.tld
    • And the password is the same password used for accessing the accounts email, or Virtualmin control panel. ex. youremailpassword.

Accessing your website statistics as the control panel admin. #

Login to your control panel (https://admin.domain.tld)

On the left side menu, Logs and Reports, you will find links to both the statistics there.

 

Website Statistics: Permissions #

  • In order access statistics, a user + password must be previously assigned.
  • Additionally for the given user, the correct internal permissions (web directory access) must also be given.

*RECCOMENDED* Create a dedicated statistics user for viewing statistics.

Adding a new user with access to the webpage statistics. ( You may also edit an existing user account. )

  1. First, Access and login to your Virtualmin Panel. ( https://admin.domain.tld )
  2. Go to Edit Users,
  3. Then “Add a user to this server”,
  4. After setting the relevant information, scroll down to “Other User Permissions”,
  5. Change this

to this

by pressing the directories, and then the right arrow. And save the new or edited user. Then when visiting the links above, use the user@domain.tld and the given password.
